We went back to the parks for a short visit on Monday after work. After parking and heading into Disneyland, we tried to avoid the parade by going into Adventureland. We rode the Jungle Cruise before deciding to finally scale Tarzan’s Treehouse.

We had some annoying kids being annoying in front of us the whole way, and they made Tracy feel claustrophobic, so she wasn’t a fan of the attraction. I liked it, though, because it has such great views.

I also think some of the theming is pretty fun.

Dusk is just such a great time to be ANYWHERE in Disneyland.

Watch out!!

We didn’t really know what to do next. Tracy suddenly got a craving for a frozen banana and wanted to go to Balboa Island to get one, but a Google search told us the stand there would already be closed for the night.

Instead, we decided to stay in the parks for a short while longer when the train pulled into the New Orleans Square Station.

For some reason, they were running the front-facing train, and we decided to ride it because we’d never experienced that in Disneyland before.

It’s weird to be able to see the berm and all the things Disney tries to point your attention away from by facing you sideways.

Tracy got tired and took a nap, lying across the whole bench. She looked very peaceful until a cast member came up to tell her that lying down was not allowed.

When we got around to Main Street Station, we disembarked and headed out of the park. We stopped into World of Disney, and Tracy loaded herself up with all the expensive merchandise that she wishes she could afford.

After deciding not to actually buy anything, we headed home.

The next day, we wanted to fulfill Tracy’s wish to finally get a chocolate-dipped banana from Balboa Island. We started to make the drive toward Newport Beach after dinner, hoping that we would finally have a good experience with the place!

As we drove across this beautiful marshland, we were already happier with Newport than we had ever been.

We decided to take the bridge rather than the ferry onto Balboa Island, and we must have had perfect timing. Rush hour was over and we had no problems getting here.

It was a little difficult to find parking because the streets of Balboa Island are SO cramped, but we found a spot on one of the side streets and then walked to our destination.

Tracy ordered her banana with all the fixings.

I don’t eat bananas, so I got a Balboa bar (vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate) with sprinkles and Oreos.
