Chapter 14
Odds and Ends

We slept very soundly in our new room at the Camelot Inn, and we actually allowed ourselves to sleep in a bit. When we woke up and flung open the curtains, this lovely view was there to greet us.

It really doesn’t get much better than being able to see Disneyland from your room.

And here was our view down to the hotel’s sign.

Even though we’d barely spent more than a couple waking hours in the room since we checked in, however, it was already time to check out. We’d reached the last day of our trip and would be heading home this evening.

Luckily, the process was quick and easy. We decided to move our car to Mickey and Friends even though we might have been able to leave it at the Camelot. We didn’t know for sure whether we’d have to pay the hotel’s steep parking fee if we’d stayed put, and Disney parking is included in our AP, so…

It felt totally normal to be back on the Mickey and Friends tram even though it was the first time we’d taken it all week. I think there must have been a Disneyland Cat to the side of the route, but I can never snap pictures of them quickly enough when the tram is in motion.

Reaching the parks, we started in DCA this morning.

We walked straight back to Cars Land because breakfast hours were almost over and we wanted to finally try one of the morning options at Cozy Cone.

Opting for the Chorizo and Eggs Cone, we walked over to sit in Flo’s while we ate (the temperature outside had already risen past “comfortable”).

This was definitely tasty. I don’t know why, but the breakfast cone just wasn’t quite as filling as the lunch cones. We’re usually stuffed after splitting a Chicken Verde, but we knew this wouldn’t leave us satiated for as long. Still, chorizo is always a favorite for both of us, and it was fun to put a breakfasty twist on the cones we’d had so many times for lunch/dinner.

We’d gotten a time for Toy Story Mania before grabbing breakfast, so we started walking toward Paradise Pier after we finished eating. We were shocked to see that Duffy was out doing a meet-and-greet because his hours were usually so limited.

How could we have known that this would be the last time we’d ever get to meet Duffy in this location? Sadly, it seems like his days of having any sort of presence at Disneyland are numbered…

Maestro Goofy had just come out to start Instant Concert… Just Add Water. I think it’s always fun to catch snippets of this show.

The fountains were dancing quite nicely.

Heading to Toy Story, neither of us was particularly on our game, but Tracy ended up beating me by just about 1,000 points.

She was the Best in Vehicle and almost Best This Hour.

And now, even though it might seem like we just ate breakfast, it was already time for lunch. I was so excited to visit Corn Dog Castle and get our first Hot Link Corn Dog in months.

Lovely and delicious!

Having done enough in DCA for the morning, we got ready to hop. We went around through Grizzly Peak and Condor Flats looking for Francisco as we exited, but he was nowhere to be seen on this hot day. I did get this great photo of the peak itself, however.

So now we said our farewells to DCA for this trip and went back to our favorite park to finish out the rest of the afternoon.
