Before we decide where to go, let me continue our little tour around our Royal Room.
I LOVED how the Magic Carpet was on the floor.
Also, the magic lamp sink.
And the Tangled lantern light.
And the Beauty and the Beast footstool air conditioner.
Here’s some of the great detail of the borders on top of the walls.
Anyway, enough of that for now. There will be more a little later. We decided it was time for a snack that we had been looking forward to throughout our trip.
We grabbed our refillable mugs to fill at the food court.
The resort was looking beautiful as always.
We crossed over into French Quarter.
And we arrived at Sassagoula Floatworks. We went through the line and bought a delicious taste of New Orleans—beignets.
They were so good! We had meant to get some of the Mickey-shaped beignets in Disneyland, but had never gotten around to it. But I’m sure these were just as good (if less-excitingly shaped). We ate them all up very quickly. Tracy was left with just some powdered sugar left on her face.
While we were filling our mugs, I noticed this sign advertising some sort of hot sauce. We liked the use of the term “poo yie…”
I took another picture of the creepy heads adorning the Floatworks before we went back outside.
We explored the grounds of French Quarter a little as we walked back toward our resort.
These signs were my favorite.
Back at Riverside, we decided to poke around some of the areas of the we hadn’t explored much.
On one of our trips, we really need to go to our resort’s pool! We haven’t swam on a Disney vacation since we stayed at Pop Century in 2008. This pool looked great, and we honestly thought for a minute about going back to the room and swimsuit-ing up, but we just couldn’t justify spending the rest of our afternoon doing that. We’re too attached to spending as much time in the parks as possible!
So instead, we just took a few pictures of Ol’ Man Island and walked away.
