November 23-30, 2013
I had bought a Disney mosaic puzzle at the thrift store in Boulder during one of our most recent visits, and I had been working hard to put it together. Unfortunately, I eventually realized that the puzzle didn’t actually have all of its pieces, so I gave up. But I snapped a picture of all my progress before I took it down.
Also, here’s a picture of the cat. Because why not?
When we headed to the parks this weekend, it was our first opportunity to see the Christmas decorations in the light of day—one problem with only being able to go after work during the winter. As it turned out, the resort was so busy that they redirected us to Toy Story parking first and then actually sent us into the Pongo lot (which is almost always cast member parking).
When we finally made it into the park, I snapped this picture of the flagpole dedication plaque that I had never noticed before.
Next, I took several photos of the Main Street decorations in the sunlight.
The holiday castle really looks much better at night, but here was a daytime view.
I also thought it was interesting that these statues were all tipped forward. I can’t remember if they do that to reveal lights or speakers.
Walking into Fantasyland, we happened to spot Peter Pan running around. I feel like he is one of the hardest characters in Disneyland to find, and this may have been the first time we ever actually saw him.
Everything was clearly packed today and all the lines were incredibly long, so we decided to ride the Carrousel because it had a mercifully short wait.
Tracy and her horse were both sticking their tongues out.
I usually love the Fantasyland views from the Carrousel, but today we could mostly just see crowds.
Since we hadn’t been to the parks during the day in almost a month, it meant we hadn’t seen our friends over at Big Thunder Ranch in forever!
Pocahontas was out in the back pen, but she was being kind of a brat. At one point, she almost tried to nip one of us while we were petting her.
Of course we were excited to see our pals the goats, so we went into their enclosure next.
My bestie, Jane,
And here’s a closeup on that adorable face.
Pongo was wearing one of the cast members’ hats, so of course we had to pose with him as well.
As we went back into the Jamboree, we saw that Billy Hill and the Hillbillies were performing part of their farewell tour on the stage and they had the Country Bears alongside them.
After the show, a few more characters came out and Tracy got to pose with reindeer Pluto.
The Country Bears were also still hanging around. Though of course, this one was doing a great job hiding.
Once his cover was blown, the two of us posed together.
Minnie came out in her holiday finest next, but she had quite the line to meet her.
We happened to spot Liverlips McGraw, and Tracy called him by name to get his attention. I think he was shocked that anyone knew who he was.
He really liked my Disneyland Cats shirt.
Suddenly, Liverlips noticed an elderly lady trying to maneuver through the crowds, so he very chivalrously went to go help her cross the street.
As we left the ranch, I noticed all these gifts for Santa’s reindeer lying around.

Awww, the photos with the Country Bears are so cute! We caught the show at WDW in October — it was my DD10’s first time seeing them in action. Her only experience (if you can call it that) with them before WDW was seeing the little hidden gem in the Winnie the Pooh ride 🙂 It was a trip down memory lane for me 🙂
