Chapter 180
My Sandwich?!

Since we had already done most of our Black Friday shopping on Dirty Thursday, we took it pretty easy the next morning.
One of our favorite post-Thanksgiving traditions is to make our turkey leftover sandwiches, complete with the “moist-maker” from Friends.
Delicious.
Our plan for this evening was to go see Frozen for the first time (we were a couple weeks behind the rest of the world).
I liked this Christmas tree outside the theatre as we got our tickets.
Honestly, it’s a little difficult to think back to just how much we enjoyed Frozen the first time we saw it. Everything from the music to the animation impressed us so much and we really loved the movie. Now here we are a year-and-a-half later, however, and I am sick to death of everything Frozen related because Disney has had no restraint when it comes to over-saturation. It’s really a shame!
Anyway, after we saw the movie, we came home and broke out the new Monopoly board we had bought the previous night. We had been so excited for the new version of the game with the cat piece piece that had just been released—especially because the commercial for it was awesome.

We didn’t know just how true to life it would be, though, until Crooky decided to “help” us play.
Since he was basically “our” cat at this point anyway, we decided to see if we could take a Christmas card photo with him in it, but he just would NOT smile for the camera.
We did get him to play with a toy—which is always fun.
We had been avoiding Disneyland like the plague because we knew the Thanksgiving crowds would be nuts, but I really wanted to go before the weekend was completely over. So we headed to the parks late Sunday afternoon.
Starting in DCA, we arrived right as they were getting ready to light the Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street.
We didn’t have the best view over all the people who had gotten there before us, but the Buena Vista Street Bell Ringers came out along with several characters.
Of course, the tree is always very pretty all lit up.
It had been a while since we had seen Francisco in the fur, so we walk over to Grizzly Peak to look for him.
Tracy even posed with him.
We were hoping that there might be a delicious special soup back at Pacific Wharf Cafe (specifically one that didn’t contain celery or peas), but there was nothing too exciting on the menu. Since we were already back there, we opted to go to Lucky Fortune Cookery instead—a first for us.
We got a Teriyaki Chicken bowl and were pleasantly surprised by how large the serving size was.
While the rice bowl wasn’t anything too special, it was still very good, so we were glad we’d given it a shot.
On the way out of Pacific Wharf, I stopped to take a picture of one of the loaves of bread they were selling on the cart. I can’t really tell what it was shaped like because of the glare off the bag, but maybe it was Thanksgiving-related?
We were about to hop over to Disneyland, but we decided at the last minute to take the Red Car Trolley from Carthay Circle to Hollywood Land instead. As we approached the stop on Hollywood Blvd, we could hear Christmas songs coming from the Mad T Party. Since we had never actually taken the time to check out the popular DCA rave for ourselves, we poked our heads in.
The band was performing “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and snow was falling on the crowd. It was actually really impressive.
Here’s Tracy from behind, sporting her Wendy bow.
We went over to Off the Page next—always a fun store—and we liked that they had some Christmas merchandise out.
Now we really did make our way out of DCA to hop over to Disneyland for the rest of the evening.
